Island Girl in the City Dave-Michael Valentine

Island Girl in the City

I wonder when you’ll come around
I swear that I can hear the sound
Of the waves caressing the shore
I can see the sunset is glowing
I can see the shadows are growing
The presence of you, I can’t ignore

All you do is enter the room, you are so witty
I can’t help but to assume that you are so pretty
Any time you’re in this place, I feel so giddy
I see the love in your face, island girl in the city

I can see that look in your eye
You don’t want to pass me by
But I’m afraid that you’ll let me down
So I keep my distance from you
I’m ashamed. If you only knew
That you’re the only girl in this town

All you do is enter the room, you are so witty
I can’t help but to assume that you are so pretty
Any time you’re in this place, I feel so giddy
I see the love in your face, island girl in the city

You and I could be a pair, we could go most anywhere
Everything that I do, considers all that we could do
I wish that you could see, what you and I, what we could be
You’d drop most anything to dance with me and sing

I wonder when you’ll come around
I swear that I can hear the sound
Of the waves caressing the shore
I can see the sunset is glowing
I can see the shadows are growing
The presence of you, I can’t ignore

All you do is enter the room, you are so witty
I can’t help but to assume that you are so pretty
Any time you’re in this place, I feel so giddy
I see the love in your face, island girl in the city
