She’s A Good Girl

SHE’S A GOOD GIRL

She’s got style, she’s got grace

She wears His countenance upon her face
She’s a big-city girl with a small-town heart
She plays her award-winning part

She’s a good girl                                   Good to the core
Who could ask for                               Anything more?

She’s a good girl                                   Doing her part
To win the favor                                     Of her Father’s heart

Seeking His will from day to day
Reading her lines from His Master Play
She’s got the key to unlock the mystery
Of the struggle that goes on within me

She never asks for the spotlight’s glow
She’s more concerned that His love will show
The world may never know her name
But heaven smiles just the same

She walks in quiet dignity
A living song of victory
And somehow, just by loving well
She teaches broken hearts to heal

Like an armor-clad holy knight
She knows what’s wrong and what is right
Like a shining light to a lost generation
She speaks of hope to a darkened nation

She’s a good girl                                   Good to the core
Who could ask for                               Anything more?

She’s a good girl                                   Doing her part
To win the favor                                     Of her Father’s heart

She’s a good girl…                              She’s a good girl…

Wonder of Your love

I remember the very first time you walked down that lane
And I thought to myself, I’d never be the same
Everything about you caught my eye, calling my name
And I started to sing to myself this old refrain

And I can’t help but consider you, as I contemplate the wonder of your love
Everything that you are and you do, cries out the awe and wonder of your love

I can’t sleep beneath these stars in the night
Knowing that you’re out there wandering tonight
There will be no end to this endless plight
As I watch the sunrise giving way to daylight

And I can’t help but consider you, as I contemplate the wonder of your love
Everything that you are and you do, cries out the awe and wonder of your love

Just when I think that we’ll make it
I imagine my heart, how you’ll break it
Guess I’ll never understand why
Being without you still makes me cry

I saw you again as you were, just yesterday
And I thought to myself that today might be the day
That you’d realize that your life might be astray
And that you might find the answer looking my way

And I can’t help but consider you, as I contemplate the wonder of your love
Everything that you are and you do, cries out the awe and wonder of your love

Mirror Image

MIRROR IMAGE

When I look in my mirror
What do I see?
Do I see more of Him
Than I see of me?
When you look in your mirror
What do you see?
Do you see the man
That you ought to be?

Mirror Image… Mirror Image… Mirror Image…
I just want to see…
I just want to be like Him.

All I want to do is be like Him,
‘Cause I know He saved my life from sin.
He’s the only One that I live for.
Can’t you hear Him knockin’ at your door?

When I look in my mirror…
What do I see?
Do I see more of Him…
Than I see of me?

Mirror Image… Mirror Image… Mirror Image…
I just want to be like Him.

Every day He’s changing me,
Little by little, patiently.
Not by power,
Not by pride,
But by His love
Alive inside.
When the world looks into my eyes,
May they see…
Not who I was…
But who He is.

Mirror Image… Mirror Image… Mirror Image…
When I look into the mirror…
May His reflection
Be the one
The whole world sees.

Mary’s Little Rock n Roller

MARY’S LITTLE ROCK-N-ROLLER

Mary’s got a little rock-n-roller
‘Neath her dress
A special being
Who’ll never settle for less
She’s frightened
But no bother
She’s gonna make me a father
A little rock-n-roller
Inside her womb
Certain to brighten
Up any room

What’s ahead for this little man
As He enters a weary, troubled land?
A King…
A Leader, say some
Let His Kingdom come

Is any wish too high for a Son
Who comes from such an innocent one?
Will He let the captive free
Or be nailed upon a tree?

She feels the tiny heartbeat
Before the world will know His name
She cannot see tomorrow
Or where this little life will reign
She only knows He chose her
To carry Heaven’s greatest plan
A mother holding history
Inside her gentle hands

Mary’s little rock-n-roller
Wish the Father could have told her
Of the fate…
Of what lies ahead
Mary’s little rock-n-roller
Concentrate while I hold her
Once were mates…
Now we’re parents instead

Oh, my. This song caused me so much grief. Mary and I decided to start off our marriage with a child in tow. Out intention was to become pregnant on our wedding night, and as far as we know we were successful. Immediately, I made up a muppet-style voice for my son, “Nathanial Del” and starting talking with him through Mary’s tummy.

We were just getting involved in the ministry back then, and I became fascinated at what must’ve been going through the Mother Mary’s mind in these early pre-birth moments. And our hopes for Nat’s potential future could have been similar…

So, I put all that in a blender, hit puree and Mary’s Little Rock ‘n’ Roller popped out, before Nat did. I got to play it exactly three times in public, before it was labeled the worst Christmas song of all time, and it was banned.

Not the first time I felt misunderstood by my peers.

You Gave Me New Life

You Gave Me New Life
(Tabitha’s Song)

You gave me new life
Now I know
What it is to grow
You gave me new life
Now I see
What this life was meant to be

When love became another heart
A miracle from where we’d start
A tiny hand, a brand-new face
And heaven filled this little place

You gave me new life
More than I ever knew
The day I first held you
Something in me was born too

You gave me new life
Every dream became more true
I thought I was welcoming you…
But you were welcoming me too

When two become another one
A daughter shining like the sun
Every smile, each sleepy sigh
Paints forever in my eyes

Every morning teaches me
Love is more than words can be
Every heartbeat softly sings
Joy is found in little things

You gave me new life…

One day you’ll find your own bright road
Carry dreams I’ve never known
You’ll laugh and stumble, rise and soar
And love this world a little more

But wherever life may lead you
However far you roam
You’ll always be the little girl
Who first taught me what love was.

You gave me new life
Now I know
What it is to grow

You gave me new life
Now I see
Who I was created to be

You gave me new life
More than words could ever do

The greatest gift I ever held…

Was you.

Bright Light Angel (Jaycie’s Song)

Bright Light Angel

(Jaycie’s Song)

You came to us softly in a midnight storm,

A tiny warm heartbeat in a world so worn.

We held you close, trembling, unsure what to do,

But hope lit the room when we first saw you.

Your mother and I had been walking so long,

Feeling tired in our calling, losing faith in our song.

But you opened a window, let the light rush in,

And we felt our whole story start over again.

You’re our bright‑light angel, shining pure and true,

A breath of life that carried us through.

Every step you take, every dream you pursue,

Our hearts beat stronger because of you.

Born at the darkest hour, yet you glowed like fire,

A spark in the shadows, lifting us higher.

As deep as that darkness was for your mother and me,

You breathed life into places we couldn’t see.

A new chance, a fresh start, a path made clear,

In your first little cry, faith drew near.

We felt nothing impossible, nothing too far —

Because you arrived, our miracle star.

You’re our bright‑light angel, shining pure and true,

A breath of life that carried us through.

Every step you take, every dream you pursue,

Our world grows brighter because of you.

Little light in the night, little hope breaking through,

We thank heaven forever for the gift of you.

Little Miss Operator

I really need someone to talk to
Don’t know how things got this bad
Wish my friends cared like they used to
Wonder how many friends I really had

Little Miss Operator
Wonder what I’m callin’ you for?
Little Miss Operator
Need someone to talk to, nothin’ more

Little Miss Operator… everyone’s too busy, or not home…
Please talk to me, talk to me, please… Little Miss Operator

Every time I give ’em a ring
They say they just don’t have the time
Keep tellin’ me to pray about everything
This mountain’s just another I have to climb

Little Miss Operator
Wonder what I’m callin’ you for?
Little Miss Operator
Need someone to talk to, nothin’ more

Little Miss Operator… everyone’s too busy, or not home…
Please talk to me, talk to me, please… Little Miss Operator

Sometimes I get so confused
And my heart fills up with emptiness
My soul accepts it’s bein’ abused
I’m wearied of so much loneliness

Little Miss Operator
Wonder what I’m callin’ you for?
Little Miss Operator
Need someone to talk to, nothin’ more

Little Miss Operator… Hello, are you there…?
Hello, is anybody there…?
C’mon now, Little Miss Operator…

Daddy, Where Are You?

DADDY WHERE ARE YOU

About a hundred years ago
You left me.
Sometimes I wish I knew
Who you were.

What your life would’ve been like
If you had raised me.
What about Mommy?
Did you love her?

I can’t help it…
Somethin’ inside keeps cryin’.

Daddy…

Where are you?

I’m a big boy now.
Well, I oughta know better.
No use cryin’ over milk
That’s already been spilled.

But I guess I’m here now…

So what’s the matter with cryin’?

Daddy…

Where are you?

Maybe you never knew my name.
Maybe you wondered too.

Maybe somewhere we both carried
Questions neither one could undo.

Time keeps telling me to move on…

But some little boys never stop listening…

For footsteps…

That never came.

I can’t help it…
Somethin’ inside keeps cryin’.

Daddy…

Where are you?

We’ll Always Have Each Other Dave-Michael Valentine

We’ll Always Have Each Other

We’ll always have each other no matter what shape or form
We’ll always have each other, the universe can be torn
We’re a part of each other, sharing more than others can
We’re not one without the other; you’re the offspring of this man

Kings and princes can’t come between everything that our lives mean
Law of man can try to keep us apart but they can rule the blood in our heart

Just because we don’t see eye-to-eye doesn’t mean we can’t recognize
That this family must fight to survive in an effort to sustain our lives
We’ll do everything that we can to preserve our family plan
Regardless of our separate homes, you won’t have to fight this war alone

We might have different points of view but I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do
I’ll keep my lips sealed in an effort to let our family heal

Power hungry lions seek to destroy; come between me and my little boy
I’ll always wear the scar of your ride in that police car
How’d you end up in foster homes, giving way to the unknown?
Then they went and cut the curls; they took the locks off my girls

Kings and princes can’t come between everything that our lives mean
Laws of man can try to keep us apart but they can rule the blood in our heart

We’ll always have each other no matter what shape or form
We’ll always have each other, the universe can be torn
We’re a part of the other, sharing more than others can
We’re not one without the other; you’re the offspring of this man

Kings and princes can’t come between everything that our lives mean
Laws of man can try to keep us apart but they can rule the blood in our heart

I’ll keep my lips sealed in an effort to let our family heal
