One Way to Two Dave-Michael Valentine

One Way to Two

Hello. How are you? Tell you who I am
I’m just your ordinary man
Wonder if you can, can see me
You’re gonna see me on your TV
You know I won’t tell you what to buy
Or pull your strings to make you cry
Be anything that you wanna be
It don’t have to be no fantasy

I ain’t never gonna let you go
And it’s only fair to let you know
I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do
Nothin’ but spend my whole life with you
My life is nothin’ but a one-way street
And I’m sittin’ in the driver’s seat
I’ll travel down the path to you
That’s marked one way, one way to two

I’m glad to meet you, welcome you to the fold
You feel your soul a’growin’ old
There ain’t no other place to be
Less you want to lose your reality
I’ll give you what you’re lookin’ for
So as not to have to look no more
Can’t you see, I’ll empower you
Do anything that you want to do

I ain’t never gonna let you go
And it’s only fair to let you know
I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do
Nothin’ but spend my whole life with you
My life is nothin’ but a one-way street
And I’m sittin’ in the driver’s seat
I’ll travel down the path to you
That’s marked one way, one way to two

Tell me, now, do you have a good time?
Are you ready, now, to lose your mind?
Let me make one thing perfectly clear
Listen close and I think you will hear
A new voice from inside your head
Tell you everything’s true that I said
‘Cause every word that I say to you
Will ring to you, ‘cause you know it’s true

Hello. How are you? Tell you who I am
I’m just your ordinary man
Wonder if you can, can see me
You’re gonna see me on your TV
You know I won’t tell you what to buy
Or pull your strings to make you cry
Be anything that you wanna be
It don’t have to be no fantasy

I ain’t never gonna let you go
And it’s only fair to let you know
I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do
Nothin’ but spend my whole life with you

Wonder of Your Love Dave-Michael Valentine

Wonder of Your love

I remember the very first time you walked down that lane
And I thought to myself, I’d never be the same
Everything about you caught my eye, calling my name
And I started to sing to myself this old refrain

And I can’t help but consider you, as I contemplate the wonder of your love
Everything that you are and you do, cries out the awe and wonder of your love

I can’t sleep beneath these stars in the night
Knowing that you’re out there wandering tonight
There will be no end to this endless plight
As I watch the sunrise giving way to daylight

And I can’t help but consider you, as I contemplate the wonder of your love
Everything that you are and you do, cries out the awe and wonder of your love

Just when I think that we’ll make it
I imagine my heart, how you’ll break it
Guess I’ll never understand why
Being without you still makes me cry

I saw you again as you were, just yesterday
And I thought to myself that today might be the day
That you’d realize that your life might be astray
And that you might find the answer looking my way

And I can’t help but consider you, as I contemplate the wonder of your love
Everything that you are and you do, cries out the awe and wonder of your love

How to Say the Words

How to Say the Words

I forget how to speak, if I could only say how I feel
But I don’t know how to say the words
Feel my knees getting weak, if I could just close this deal
But I don’t know how to say the words

Saw you walking down the street, made my heart skip a beat
You heart strewn along your sleeve
You’re the one I want to meet, let me sweep you off your feet
And assure your lover never leaves

I forget how to speak, if I could only say how I feel
But I don’t know how to say the words
Feel my knees getting weak, if I could just close this deal
But I don’t know how to say the words

I wish you could only know, that I’d never let you go
‘Cause I would lose you for all time
That’s the worst thing I could do, knowing how much I’d love you
I’m but a paralyzed mime

This is your last chance ask her to dance
I’m stuck in paralytic prose
This is your last chance ask her to dance
Only my hairdresser knows…

I forget how to speak, if I could only say how I feel
But I don’t know how to say the words
Feel my knees getting weak, if I could just close this deal
But I don’t know how to say the words

Saw you walking down the street, made my heart skip a beat
You heart strewn along your sleeve
You’re the one I want to meet, let me sweep you off your feet
And assure your lover never leaves

I forget how to speak, if I could only say how I feel
But I don’t know how to say the words
Feel my knees getting weak, if I could just close this deal
But I don’t know how to say the words…

Thank You for Saying that You Love Me Dave-Michael Valentine

Thank You for Saying that You Love Me

You’ve show me things that I’ve never seen
Opened my eyes so that I could believe
Shown me things I’ve never seen before
You think I’m begging you for something more…
We’ve gone places that I’d never been
And I’d do it all over again
We’ve had our cake and we ate it, too
But that’s all that we’re gonna do
We’ve shared things that I’ve never shared
And gone where others have not dared
We’ve danced and we’ve played our guitar
And sung songs to the brightest star
But there are limits to what we can share
As long as we both breathe this air
When I think that you can really see
Then you say that you love only me

Thank you for saying that you love me
Understand that I can’t love you
I appreciate all you’ve done for me
But I’ve got another to whom I must be true

I don’t want to see your broken heart
Or spend one more minute apart
Why can’t you simply understand
That we follow the path that was planned
If we rise above all this pain
To see our lives continue to remain
I don’t want what we have to end
Why can’t you accept it and be my friend?

Thank you for saying that you love me
Understand that I can’t love you
I appreciate all you’ve done for me
But I’ve got another to whom I must be true

(Interlude)

We’ve shared things that I’ve never shared
And gone where others have not dared
We’ve danced and we’ve played our guitar
And sung songs to the brightest star
But there are limits to what we can share
As long as we both breathe this air
When I think that you can really see
Then you say that you love only me

Thank you for saying that you love me
Understand that I can’t love you
I appreciate all you’ve done for me
But I’ve got another to whom I must be true
Thank you for saying that you love me.

Cannibal Girls Dave-Michael Valentine

Cannibal Girls

I had a friend who used to hang out in clubs

He liked variety in the girls he’d meet

’til he met a cannibal girl in the shrubs

who reduced my friend to hamburger meat

Cannibal Girls, they’ll eat you alive

Cannibal Girls find out where you hide

Cannibal Girls look so damn cute

Cannibal Girls skin off your birthday suit

Ever know a man who suddenly disappeared

Without a word to friends or relatives?

You might think it’s absurd or weird

Stay away from where the cannibal girl lives.

Cannibal Girls, they’ll eat you alive

Cannibal Girls find out where you hide

Cannibal Girls look so damn cute

Cannibal Girls skin off your birthday suit

Sure, you’ll get what you’re looking for

but you’ll get more than what you bargained for

Just when you couldn’t ask for more

You’ll be that girl’s soup du jour

Cannibal Girls, they’ll eat you alive

Cannibal Girls find out where you hide

Cannibal Girls look so damn cute

Cannibal Girls skin off your birthday suit

Cannibal girls are a feast for the eyes

they say everything that you want to hear.

Every now and then another man dies

You might be a side dish for a year.

Cannibal Girls, they’ll eat you alive

Cannibal Girls find out where you hide

Cannibal Girls look so damn cute

Cannibal Girls skin off your birthday suit

(guitar noodling)

Cannibal Girls, they’ll eat you alive

Cannibal Girls find out where you hide

Cannibal Girls look so damn cute

Cannibal Girls skin off your birthday suit

Cannibal Girls, they’ll eat you alive

Cannibal Girls find out where you hide

Cannibal Girls look so damn cute

Cannibal Girls skin off your birthday suit

Cannibal Girls, they’ll eat you alive

Momma never told you about cannibal girls.

Where’d the War Be? Dave-Michael Valentine

Where’d the War Be?

I’ve got nothing to hide. Look inside my empty pockets.

I’ve got some insecticide, some heat-seeking rockets.

Bombs and guns galore. Guns and ammo abound.

To prove I love you more; can’t you hear the sound?

(rifle shot)

Where’d the war be

without me giving you all this artillery for this military coup?

Tell me, where’d the war be

Without the stuff that you need?

Looking at your history; don’t think you can make it without me.

How about missile fire? Planes for fight in air?

I’ve got some razor wire to reach from here to there

Gonna need some land mines – make sure the trip wire’s set

Talk about explosions – Baby, you ain’t seen nothing yet!

Where’d the war be

without me giving you all this artillery for this military coup?

Tell me, where’d the war be

Without the stuff you need?

Looking at your history; don’t think you can make it without me.

You got to have some napalm, to assure you win the race

And how about a nuclear bomb, just in case?

No to forget the bio – logical weapons, I meant to say

Nothing like a fatal disease to spoil a perfect day!

Where’d the war be

without me giving you all this artillery for this military coup?

Tell me, where’d the war be

Without the stuff that you need?

Looking at your history; don’t think you can make it without me.

I’ve got nothing to hide. Look inside my empty pockets.

I’e got some insecticide, some heat-seeking rockets.

Bombs and guns galore. Guns and ammo abound.

To prove I love you more; can’t you hear the sound?

Nightmare Dave-Michael Valentine

Nightmare

O’ God, this is a nightmare… Please help me wake up

This can’t be. How could You let this happen to me?

Please help me wake up.

No. That’s not  her. It can’t be. Please help me wake up

She’ not my daughter. She can’t be.

Let me wake up.

She’s been beaten, she’s be bruised. She’s been bleeding, she’s been shot.

She’s been beaten, she’s be bruised. She’s been bleeding, she’s been shot.

My daughter… this is not.

Is it?

(Yes, I’m afraid it’s her.)

O’ God, this is a nightmare… Please help me wake up

This can’t be. You wouldn’t let this happen to me.

Please let me wake up.

O’ God, this is a nightmare…

Contemplate the Mysteries Dave-Michael Valentine

Contemplate the Mysteries

Look my way and you will find that you’ll find I’m worth the time

The future’s full (of) uncertainty, look with your heart and you will see

The colors of the ties that bind and The Reason behind the rhyme

You’ll see life’s frivolity and get a glimpse of what could be

Contemplate the mysteries, all of life’s uncertainties

Ponder majestic fantasies, our interlocking destinies

Together we will extrapolate consciousness of love and hate

We will drink from the well unbound from heaven or hell

Universally intertwined we’ll leave our past well behind

Soaring above the physical plane, where other humans still remain

Contemplate the mysteries, all of life’s uncertainties

Ponder majestic fantasies, our interlocking destinies

We will reunite as one, a fusion that can’t be undone

Having the possibility of exceeding our humanity

Serenity bestowed upon we who bask within the Son

Take a chance and you could see we could have eternity

Contemplate the mysteries, all of life’s uncertainties

Ponder majestic fantasies, our interlocking destinies

One Step Away Dave michael Valentine DMV

There’s Something Dave-Michael Valentine

There’s Something

There’s no reason to be suspicious of you, you always return home

I know you love me, you tell me do. Why am I sleeping all alone?

Hours go by slower, days even slower still.

Could I have made you fuller, or did you have your fill?

And I wonder where you are tonight

I sure hope you’ll be alright

I know you love me, you say you do

I hope you love me like I love you

But there’s something… There’s just something…

Believe me, I couldn’t leave you. What did I ever do?

Come back and please believe me, I think that I still want you

I saw you just the other day, I wasn’t sure, you just walked away

Who it was for sure, I’ll never know. I hear you see you wherever I go.

And I wonder where you are tonight

I sure hope you’ll be alright

I know you love me, you say you do

I hope you love me like I love you

But there’s something… There’s just something…

There’s no reason to be suspicious of you, you always return home

I know you love me, you tell me do. Why am I sleeping all alone?

Hours go by slower, days even slower still.

Could I have made you fuller, or did you have your fill?

And I wonder where you are tonight

I sure hope you’ll be alright

I know you love me, you say you do

I hope you love me like I love you

But there’s something… There’s just something…

There’s just something… (I don’t know what it is)

There’s just something…
