Find My Way – Dave-Michael Valentine

FIND MY WAY

I try so hard to keep my eyes on You I’ll never understand
The things that I don’t want to do Are the things I have on hand
It seems when things are goin’ alright It’s like a free ride
I find when I’m not fightin’ the fight It seems that You hide
Do You really hide?

Well, I’ve got to Find my way Back to You
Well, I’ve got to Find my way Back to You
Well, I’ve got to Find my way Back to You
Hey… hey…

I try so hard to love everybody But hide bitterness inside
I try to try to be like You Is it because I died?
If I rebuke somebody in love Or point out something wrong
‘Cause I’m not that strong Well, You know it… I’m not that strong

Well, I’ve got to Find my way Back to You
Hey… back to You…

Sometimes I lose direction One little step at a time
Not with one great decision But by leaving You behind
So call me back in mercy Before I drift too far
The road that leads me home again Begins right where You are

Maybe I don’t read Your Word As much as I should
Maybe I don’t pray as hard As maybe I could
Are You tellin’ me to turn off the T.V.? That my heart needs surgery?
Does every heart need surgery? Do I need heart surgery?

Well, I’ve got to Find my way Back to You…

Maybe it’s back to You… Maybe it’s back to You…

Departure – Dave-Michael Valentine

DEPARTURE

You’re always talking holiness
But you’re only breeding bitterness
I’m going to live without you
Live life like I want to
I love the kids with all my heart
Please tell them that while we’re apart
As for you, I love you more
That’s why I must go out this door

You can’t walk out that door
What about the sixteen years
We’ve been married for?
After all those sixteen years
After the laughter and after the tears
You just walk out and leave us alone
All alone and on our own
What will I do?
I don’t think we can make it without you

Sometimes love can lose its way
Buried underneath the pain
Sometimes hearts keep holding on
Long after hope has gone
If we ever find each other
May forgiveness lead us home
Love is more than staying…
Love is more than going…

Come And Walk With Me – Dave-Michael Valentine

Come And Walk With Me

No eye has seen,
No ear has heard,
The wonders still to come.
No heart has dreamed
The things prepared
For those who trust the Son.

Every sunrise whispers hope,
Every breath’s another chance.
Every step can lead us closer
If we’ll simply take His hand.

Jesus came
That we might see,
And live abundantly.
He still calls
So tenderly…

“Come and walk with Me.”

He longs to set us free,
To fill our hearts completely.
Come and walk with Me.

Love your neighbor,
Lift the weary,
Carry someone’s load.
Mercy grows
In simple moments
Along the narrow road.

Faith is more
Than words we speak.
It’s kindness every day.
The truest sermon
Most will ever hear
Is love along the way.

Don’t be hearers only—
Let your life become the song.
Grace becomes believable
When love is lived out strong.

Jesus came
That we might see,
And live abundantly.
His arms are open,
Calling still…

“Come and walk with Me.”

He longs to set us free,
To fill our hearts completely.

No eye has seen…
The joy He has prepared.

Bound for Forever (The Wedding Song)

BOUND FOR FOREVER
(The Wedding Song)

He’s a good man with a good wife,
Headed for the good life.
Vows exchanged, hand in hand,
They walk together through this land.
An uncommon journey traveled by two,
With the love of God to see them through.
Not for a moment, not for today,
But forever…
These two are bound for forever.

Storms may come. Storms may go. No matter what the weather,
Led in perfect unity, They’ll always know They belong together.
For eternity… And eternity’s a long, long time.

Blessed by the Father, Spirit, and Son,
Two lives together, Now made one.
What God has joined, Let no one tear asunder.
Sometimes His whisper Still sounds like thunder.

Storms may come… Storms may go… No matter what the weather.
Hand in hand, By grace they’ll stand,
Growing old together. For eternity… And eternity’s a long, long time.

Love is more Than wedding vows. It’s choosing Here and now.
It’s forgiveness, Shared tears, Shared laughter, Growing stronger
Year after year. And when two hearts Keep turning toward the Light,
Forever Begins… Again… Each morning.

Storms may come… Storms may go… No matter what the weather.
Bound by grace, Face to face, Walking home together.
For eternity… And eternity’s a long… Long… Time.

A Better Day – Dave-Michael Valentine

A Better Day

Why’d you come to me and ask me why I cling to this tree?

It’s because I feel the world changing underneath my feet.

There’s so much poison in the air and everything I see.

I’m not sure what’s becoming of me.

Every day I recognize

less of yesterday’s humanity.

Chorus

I believe there’s got to be a better way.

I’m holding on for what could be a better day.

If we change our ways we might ask ourselves just why

We had to leave this earth so wounded before we had to die.

We’ve burned through every promise that tomorrow would be free.

Now we’re living with the harvest

of the things we chose to be.

Chorus

There’s got to be a way to turn this story back around.

Lay our weapons on the ground.

Learn again what hope has found.

Maybe history is waiting

for someone to choose today.

Maybe that’s how all tomorrow

begins to find its way.

Guitar Break

This old world is tired,

but it hasn’t lost its soul.

Every forest starts with one small seed.

Every river starts to flow.

If enough of us remember

who we really came to be,

maybe “better day” begins

with you…

and maybe me.

Chorus

Why’d you come to me and ask me why I cling to this tree?

Maybe somewhere deep inside

you still believe what I believe.

If one heart can choose tomorrow,

maybe two can start today.

I’m still holding on…

for what could be a better day.

MIRROR IMAGE

When I look in my mirror
What do I see?
Do I see more of Him
Than I see of me?
When you look in your mirror
What do you see?
Do you see the man
That you ought to be?

Mirror Image… Mirror Image… Mirror Image…
I just want to see…
I just want to be like Him.

All I want to do is be like Him,
‘Cause I know He saved my life from sin.
He’s the only One that I live for.
Can’t you hear Him knockin’ at your door?

When I look in my mirror…
What do I see?
Do I see more of Him…
Than I see of me?

Mirror Image… Mirror Image… Mirror Image…
I just want to be like Him.

Every day He’s changing me,
Little by little, patiently.
Not by power,
Not by pride,
But by His love
Alive inside.
When the world looks into my eyes,
May they see…
Not who I was…
But who He is.

Mirror Image… Mirror Image… Mirror Image…
When I look into the mirror…
May His reflection
Be the one
The whole world sees.

Mary’s Little Rock n Roller

MARY’S LITTLE ROCK-N-ROLLER

Mary’s got a little rock-n-roller
‘Neath her dress
A special being
Who’ll never settle for less
She’s frightened
But no bother
She’s gonna make me a father
A little rock-n-roller
Inside her womb
Certain to brighten
Up any room

What’s ahead for this little man
As He enters a weary, troubled land?
A King…
A Leader, say some
Let His Kingdom come

Is any wish too high for a Son
Who comes from such an innocent one?
Will He let the captive free
Or be nailed upon a tree?

She feels the tiny heartbeat
Before the world will know His name
She cannot see tomorrow
Or where this little life will reign
She only knows He chose her
To carry Heaven’s greatest plan
A mother holding history
Inside her gentle hands

Mary’s little rock-n-roller
Wish the Father could have told her
Of the fate…
Of what lies ahead
Mary’s little rock-n-roller
Concentrate while I hold her
Once were mates…
Now we’re parents instead

Oh, my. This song caused me so much grief. Mary and I decided to start off our marriage with a child in tow. Out intention was to become pregnant on our wedding night, and as far as we know we were successful. Immediately, I made up a muppet-style voice for my son, “Nathanial Del” and starting talking with him through Mary’s tummy.

We were just getting involved in the ministry back then, and I became fascinated at what must’ve been going through the Mother Mary’s mind in these early pre-birth moments. And our hopes for Nat’s potential future could have been similar…

So, I put all that in a blender, hit puree and Mary’s Little Rock ‘n’ Roller popped out, before Nat did. I got to play it exactly three times in public, before it was labeled the worst Christmas song of all time, and it was banned.

Not the first time I felt misunderstood by my peers.

You Gave Me New Life

You Gave Me New Life
(Tabitha’s Song)

You gave me new life
Now I know
What it is to grow
You gave me new life
Now I see
What this life was meant to be

When love became another heart
A miracle from where we’d start
A tiny hand, a brand-new face
And heaven filled this little place

You gave me new life
More than I ever knew
The day I first held you
Something in me was born too

You gave me new life
Every dream became more true
I thought I was welcoming you…
But you were welcoming me too

When two become another one
A daughter shining like the sun
Every smile, each sleepy sigh
Paints forever in my eyes

Every morning teaches me
Love is more than words can be
Every heartbeat softly sings
Joy is found in little things

You gave me new life…

One day you’ll find your own bright road
Carry dreams I’ve never known
You’ll laugh and stumble, rise and soar
And love this world a little more

But wherever life may lead you
However far you roam
You’ll always be the little girl
Who first taught me what love was.

You gave me new life
Now I know
What it is to grow

You gave me new life
Now I see
Who I was created to be

You gave me new life
More than words could ever do

The greatest gift I ever held…

Was you.

Bright Light Angel (Jaycie’s Song)

Bright Light Angel

(Jaycie’s Song)

You came to us softly in a midnight storm,

A tiny warm heartbeat in a world so worn.

We held you close, trembling, unsure what to do,

But hope lit the room when we first saw you.

Your mother and I had been walking so long,

Feeling tired in our calling, losing faith in our song.

But you opened a window, let the light rush in,

And we felt our whole story start over again.

You’re our bright‑light angel, shining pure and true,

A breath of life that carried us through.

Every step you take, every dream you pursue,

Our hearts beat stronger because of you.

Born at the darkest hour, yet you glowed like fire,

A spark in the shadows, lifting us higher.

As deep as that darkness was for your mother and me,

You breathed life into places we couldn’t see.

A new chance, a fresh start, a path made clear,

In your first little cry, faith drew near.

We felt nothing impossible, nothing too far —

Because you arrived, our miracle star.

You’re our bright‑light angel, shining pure and true,

A breath of life that carried us through.

Every step you take, every dream you pursue,

Our world grows brighter because of you.

Little light in the night, little hope breaking through,

We thank heaven forever for the gift of you.
